Spelling Bee of Canada’s Online Competition Preparation (OCP) includes a custom coaching curriculum for registered contestants to prepare for their regional spelling bee competitions, with both theoretical and practical components.

The two coaching sessions are designed hierarchically so that preceding information builds onto the next.
The first session starts with the basics, reviewing the English language foundations and advancing to more complex topics, such as word formulation to help effectively gauge the spellings of words.
The second session focuses on providing exclusive information on the structure and format of the spelling bee competitions, using spelling bee rules to your advantage, and training so that contestants are equipped if they advance to the subsequent rounds in the finals.
Each session is conducted in small groups, which allows us to dedicate time for spelling practice, including mock spelling bee competitions with the coach as an official and participants as contestants.
The officials will use words from the SBOC study guide to test contestants on their spelling while providing encouragement, and tips during the spelling practice segment.
