WHY IT MATTERS:
Since 1987, SBOC has empowered over 50,000 Canadian children through its national literacy
programs. With participation from provinces including Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and B.C.,
this grassroots initiative continues to grow into a unifying force for education and cultural
celebration.
This year's theme also spotlights the vital role of local libraries through student-written essays, and
celebrates unsung community champions—adding depth to the weekend’s academic showcase.
